COMMISSIONS & TERMS OF SERVICE
ARTIST’S RIGHTS
Payment
All prices are in USD. Currently, I am using Paypal to accept payments. Please do not ask about other forms of payment through checks, mailed cash, exposure, etc. Once the price has been discussed and established, expect to receive a paypal invoice for the agreed amount from tonyson1990@gmail.com Please do not send money unless it is in response to an invoice I have already sent you. For the majority of commissions, payment is expected upfront. Larger projects will be discussed further to establish payment plans. Work does not begin until payment is received.
The rough pricing for commissions is $20/hr. Because all of the work is created digitally, there are material costs. However, publishing rights will increase the costs. Details about publishing are further down.
Process
The process is simple enough. The discussed project is given two exploratory sketches, followed by any necessary revisions before being finalized. Up to two revisions are available, so use them wisely! I hate to be strict on revisions, but any more is a toll on time, and would require an additional fee. Once you are satisfied with the direction of the project, I will proceed to completing the piece. Upon completion, I will email a high resolution piece in .png format and a resized version for gallery uploading.
The default completion time for most pieces is 10 to 14 days from the date of receiving payment (Though I make the personal effort of finishing a project within a week of its invoice being filled)
I will always communicate a due date to be agreed upon before sending, especially if there is a date earlier than 10 days in which you want the project completed.
Preferences
Please note that at this time I will not draw anything overly sexual, violent, or fetish-centric. Pinups, tasteful nudity, base characters, and other subjects seen from my personal art are fine. I have the right to refuse any commission for any reason. If you are unsure, please feel free to inquire. No harm, no foul.
Publishing
Under copyright, I retain all rights to any image I create, which means that only I may publish or reproduce the image. I will typically upload any art I create to my galleries; this is within my rights as a creator. But if you would like to buy the privacy of your commission, it will come at an extra fee. If I want to use your piece in my portfolio or print it for personal publicity, I will ask ahead of time. I will never claim your characters or ideas as my own, and will always credit commissioners in uploads, unless specifically requested not to.
For a professional or commercial project, please email me to inquire about contracting or additional fees.
CLIENT’S RIGHTS
All clients must be 18 years or older at the time of initial correspondence.
Fixes and Redraws
The client is entitled to two revisions during the rough draft stage. It is advised that exploratory sketches are requested at the earliest stage as to avoid larger revisions and fulfill the project at a timely manner. The two revisions are meant for adjusting colors, poses, or details, and should take less than 30 minutes to accomplish. Please not that revisions requested beyond the earlier stages will not be accepted. If the client has not responded to a rough draft with revisions within 96 hours, I will move forward with the project.
Publishing
Any art you commission from them may be used for personal, non-commercial purposes only. Neither you or a third party may make edits to the artwork itself under any circumstances. If you are unhappy with your piece, please discuss changes with me so that I may make edits for you. You may upload any work done for you to your personal gallery as a courtesy unless otherwise agreed upon, but you must credit me in the image details. Cropping and resizing is acceptable, as long as you don’t claim the work as your own.
Privacy
As the client, you retain your right to privacy. If you have any misgivings about me uploading your commissioned piece to my gallery, please let me know ahead of time. Retroactive recalls to artwork will not be honored. Art including copyrighted characters will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Behavior
Please not that I will be providing background checks through the art community before agreeing upon work. As a part of the community, it is my duty to warn fellow artists of scammers, rude clients, etc. All correspondence will be recorded.
All exchanges must remain professional and civil. I will refuse a client if I receive anything less.
Communication
Please allow a window of 3 days between submitting a commission form and receiving a reply from me. I will do my best to update you personally on the status of your commission once it has been paid for, unless otherwise agreed upon. You are welcome to request a status update once a week, should I not provide you with one myself. Feel free to contact me for any additional tasks that are beyond our agreed upon contract. While I am typically free to respond immediately, please allow 2-3 days for a response from any emails. Any messages sent at a more frequent rate will be considered as harassment, and will be dealt with accordingly.
By entering into a contract with me, you agree to keep up an equal frequency of contact when called upon. My process requires multiple drafts through email to be approved before the next stages begin. Again, if there is no response following 3 days, assume I have moved forward with a draft of my choosing. Please let me know if you are unable to meet this communication frequency and I can accommodate accordingly. If correspondence isn’t met at the earliest stages, you will be given one week grace period before the project is entirely dropped. No refunds. But I will take the time to contact you at a reasonable frequency to give reminders.
My contact is tonyson1990@gmail.com and is the preferred method of communication. You may also reach me on twitter @tonysonartanim
Refunds
All commissions are non-refundable once completed. Should you need to cancel a commission once the work has begun, a refund will be given equal to the amount paid minus the amount owed for work that has been completed. If for any reason I must drop the commission, you will be notified and a full refund will be issued.
RESERVATION PROCESS
If I am opening for commissions, I will post notifications on Twitter.
If you are interested, send an email to tonyson1990@gmail.com . Please put in the subject line “Commission,” and leave your name. It doesn’t have to be particularly formal.
I will respond as soon as I can. At this time, I am looking to have up to ten commissions per week. If I am unable to schedule you immediately, I will discuss a later time in which I can fulfill your request.
Once you are approved for a commission, submit this form. The form will detail all the options for a commission, as well as specifications of your request. Following the form submission, we can discuss over email for my best understanding of the project you would like.
Because I am always anticipating several commissions at once, I will have a publicly viewable queue for clients to look at. No personal information will be submitted, only expected turnaround dates. In the event of an overwhelming response, I may decide to close commissions. If you have been given a later start date, I will still honor it.
ORDER FORM [Link]
Once your email request is accepted, I will send you an order form. Please take a moment to fill it out to the best of your ability. As long as you show that you have an idea to work with, I will be able to contact you.
